Originally from France, Brigitte Bourger has lived in French Polynesia for over forty years. Trained as a pharmacist, she now devotes herself fully to photography, guided by her fascination with water, the ocean and coastal landscapes.
Her work explores the boundaries between reality and abstraction. Whether photographing from the air or from the ground, she seeks to move beyond literal representation, allowing landscapes to lose their familiar reference points and reveal themselves in new ways.
Her project Éphémères Impressions, devoted to the fragility of the marine world in French Polynesia, led to the publication of a book by Éditions Escourbiac in France. The book received second place in the Nature category at the 2020 Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) and first place at the 2021 Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA).
She continues to explore water and coastal landscapes through photography, seeking moments when the familiar is transformed.
Originaire de France, Brigitte Bourger vit en Polynésie française depuis plus de quarante ans. Pharmacienne de formation, elle se consacre pleinement à la photographie, guidée par sa fascination pour l’eau, l’océan et les paysages côtiers.
